Allocation of Government expenditure from March-May 2020

On 10^th March 2020, the government issued a circular allocating funds for the period of March-May 2020.

In total, LKR 1, 225 bn is allocated from 6^th March to 31^st May 2020

52% of the total allocation is spent on debt servicing, of which LKR 360 bn (30%) is expected to be spent on loan repayment and LKR 268 bn (22%) is to be spent on interest payments.

The total expenditure excluding loan repayment and interest payment is LKR 596 bn, of which LKR 445 bn (36%) will be spent on recurrent expenditure and LKR 151 bn (12%) will be on Capital Expenditure.
