Allocation of Government expenditure from June – August 2020

On 31^st May 2020, the government issued a circular allocating funds for the period June-August 2020.

In total, LKR 1, 043 bn is allocated from 1^st June to 31^st August 2020

47% of the total allocation is spent on debt servicing, of which LKR 262 bn (25%) is expected to be spent on loan repayment and LKR 224 bn (22%) is to be spent on Interest Payments.

The total expenditure excluding loan repayment and interest payment is LKR 557 bn, of which LKR 420 bn (40%) will be spent on recurrent expenditure and LKR 137 bn (13%) will be on Capital Expenditure. It is divided into different sectors and ministries as below.
